Why use a simulator?

Riding the simulator, allows you to focus on yourself 100% without having to worry about your horses way of going. Lack of symmetry in your body contributes to loss of balance, for both of you and your horse, inviting compensations. The simulator also allows additional techniques e.g. using bands, that wouldn’t be suitable or safe on a live horse!

Can I bring my own saddle?

Yes, you can, but it needs to be a dressage saddle with longer girth straps. If you don't currently have your own dressage saddle, there are a selection available, each with different bridge and seat sizes. I personally know just how difficult or even uncomfortable it can be riding in a saddle that is not suitable for your pelvis conformation.

How is the simulator controlled?

They can be controlled by the rider using sensors on the side of the horse or the coach using a hand held controller.

What should I wear?

You need to be comfortable, so wear what you normally do, i.e. jodhpurs, breeches or leggings with your riding boots. You will also need your riding hat. The risk of falling is very small but your body is used to wearing a hat when riding so it is beneficial to train wearing one. Some clients like to wear gloves too!
